Flobots - your new favourite politically-charged alternative rock/rap group
Check out this amazing video to the track Handlbars - it’s from a US band called Flobots who you probably won’t see getting much airplay in the UK any time soon. Think Rage Against the Machine for the post 9/11 world, and you’re on the right tracks.
Amazon UK is now carrying an import of the 2007 album which pushed Flobots into the US mainstream consciousness, and features the track Handlbars: Fight With Tools [Us Import]
I think you’ll find you are wrong my friend. Zane Lowe has played Handlebars 4 times on his show, he’s also had the world exclusive play of the DJ Shadow remix of Handlebars. Jo Whiley has played it too as well as Colin Murray, all on Radio 1. Ian Camfield has played on XFM and Paul Gambaccini on Radio 2. Handlebars is released in the UK on 15th September. It’s looking like it will be massive in the UK. Album is available digitally now, physical UK version will be released 22nd Sept. Check out their UK microsite - http://www.flobots.co.uk

Brilliant instrumentation - the ska feel is awesome and who else drums along when the beat starts at the beginning?
on the other hand, i think they might be one hit wonders - the other songs might grow on me but i didn’t start loving them like i did this song

I LOVE the Dj Shadow remix of flobots - handlebars. I can’t get enuff of it. I like the “I can show you how to scratch a record” and then it breaks down into a scratch solo. Basically this is the best song ever. Too bad the DJ Shadow mix hasn’t hit the internet ANYWHERE! I think we’ve all been looking around for it. Somebody post it here once they find it!!
